The Telecommunication Authority of Trinidad & Tobago Spectrum Auction was completed today. The auction raised approximately US$25 million and introduced two new wireless providers, Digicel and LaqTel, to Trinidad & Tobago. The auction, which was designed and implemented by Market Design Inc. with the assistance of Criterion Auctions, involved two auction stages. Stage One of the auction involved simultaneous multi-round bidding. In Stage Two, two bidders advanced and were allowed to express their preferences for spectrum through package bidding. Digicel won five 5 MHz blocks of spectrum, and LaqTel won three 5 MHz blocks.
